Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and MdoubleA LLC ("MdoubleA," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of Cardiac Codex, including our mobile applications and website (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of the Service

Cardiac Codex is an exam-preparation and study tool for the RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) and RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist) certifications, including a study library, adaptive quiz practice, and an AI study assistant called "Cardiac Coach." Cardiac Codex is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or administered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or any other certifying body. Completing content in the Service does not guarantee that you will pass any exam or obtain any certification.

2. Eligibility

The Service is intended for licensed and student healthcare professionals age 18 or older who are preparing for cardiovascular invasive or electrophysiology certification. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract.

3. Educational Purpose Only — No Medical Advice

The Service, including all lessons, quiz questions, concept explanations, and Cardiac Coach responses, is provided for exam-preparation and educational purposes only. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for professional clinical judgment, your employer's policies and protocols, or accredited coursework. Do not use the Service to make decisions about patient diagnosis, treatment, or care. Always verify clinical information against current, authoritative sources and your institution's guidelines before applying it in practice.

Cardiac Coach is an AI feature and can make mistakes. Cardiac Coach is powered by a third-party large language model (Anthropic's Claude) and generates responses automatically, without review by a licensed clinician or subject-matter expert before being shown to you. Its responses may be incomplete, out of date, or factually incorrect. Use Cardiac Coach at your own discretion, and independently verify any information you rely on. This same notice is displayed directly in the app on every screen where you can chat with Cardiac Coach.

4. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account. Accounts are for individual use only and may not be shared.

5. Subscriptions, Payments, and Access Codes

Paid plans (such as a 6-Month Pass or Monthly subscription) are billed through our payment processor, Stripe. Pricing and plan details are shown in the app at the time of purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled beforehand through the in-app billing portal.
Access codes are single-use, non-transferable, and may not be resold, unless we state otherwise in writing.
Except where required by applicable law, fees are non-refundable, including for partial subscription periods. We may, at our sole discretion, issue refunds on a case-by-case basis.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Scrape, copy, redistribute, or resell curriculum content, quiz questions, or Cardiac Coach output
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
Share your account credentials or access codes with others
Use the Service to enter, upload, or transmit any patient-identifiable health information
Use automated means (bots, scripts) to interact with the Service, including Cardiac Coach, in a way that abuses rate limits or allotments
Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms

7. Intellectual Property

All curriculum content, quiz questions, software, and branding in the Service are owned by or licensed to MdoubleA LLC and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access and use the Service for your own exam preparation. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE, INCLUDING CARDIAC COACH RESPONSES, WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT IT WILL PREPARE YOU TO PASS ANY EXAM.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MDOUBLEA LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MdoubleA LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in North Carolina.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
